Padma Textiles is a global fashion design and manufacturing company founded in 1995, with design
offices in Amsterdam, Barcelona, London, and Los Angeles, and manufacturing across Bangladesh,
China, Vietnam, Egypt and more. Our US business develops licensed apparel collections for major US
retail, including club, off-price and mass channels.
We are hiring a Head of Garment Sourcing to own garment sourcing and production out of China and
the wider Asia region for our US licensed programs. This person will be the senior garment expert on the
ground: building the factory base, driving cost and quality, and making sure production lands on time.
The role reports to the head of the China office with a dotted line to the Chief Operating Officer, US (dba LayLo)

职位描述：
Location and Travel
? Based in China. Dongguan office preferred; candidates based in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Keqiao or
Shenzhen will be considered.
? Candidates based outside Dongguan are expected to spend regular, scheduled time in the
Dongguan office, including key development and production milestones.
? Frequent factory and mill visits across China, with regional travel as programs require.
Key Responsibilities
Sourcing and Factory Base
? Identify, evaluate and onboard garment factories across China and the region, with a focus on
sweaters, outerwear and elevated fabrications
? Partner closely with the Keqiao fabric sourcing team, who lead fabric sourcing and mill relationships
? Build a factory base that can deliver elevated quality at high volume for US mass distribution
? Place programs with the right factory for each category, price point and volume
Costing and Negotiation
? Lead FOB negotiations and drive cost engineering to hit target margins
? Provide costing guidance early in development so design decisions are commercially sound
? Support tariff and duty mitigation through country of origin and sourcing strategy
Development and Production
? Own the sourcing and production calendar against US delivery dates, flagging risks early with
solutions
? Oversee sampling, fit, lab dips, yarn and fabric approvals, and pre-production through shipment
? Ensure quality and compliance standards are met for major US retailers
Team and Communication
? Serve as the senior garment point of contact between the US team and the China office
? Guide and support the China merchandising team on the US licensed businessPadma Textiles
? Communicate clearly and proactively with US teams, including regular status updates and meeting
follow-ups
Requirements
? 15+ years of garment sourcing and production experience, including senior roles at a sourcing agent
or trading company (for example Li & Fung, New Times Group or similar)
? Sweater expertise is required: gauges and knit constructions, knitting and linking, finishing and
sweater costing
? Outerwear expertise is required: shell, lining and insulation, construction and seam finishing, trims
and outerwear costing
? Broad apparel experience across knits, wovens and cut and sew
? Established relationships with garment factories producing elevated fabrics and yarns for highvolume accounts with mass US distribution
? Proven track record of delivering elevated quality at volume and at competitive cost
? Direct experience working with US brands and retailers, including US quality, compliance and
delivery standards
? Strong negotiation skills and command of costing
? Fluent written and spoken English and Mandarin
? Proactive problem solver who communicates issues early and follows through
? Experience with licensed brand programs is a plus
? Experience managing or mentoring merchandising teams is a plus
